Things I miss about the US:
TELEVISION (The Office, Heroes, mainly NBC shows because they don’t put their episodes on iTunes which is stupid since they’d get a fortune from me and Bayley)
CLEANLINESS : No dirt, no bugs. A clear distinguishment between inside and outside. A cleaner that actually cleans.
ORDER: People who wait in lines.
PARKING LOTS: Not having to go through Hell to find a place for my motor vehicle.
GROCERY SHOPPING WITH A CAR: I find I only miss having a car when I need to transport things other than myself. Mainly this applies to grocery shopping as it did when I lived in Georgetown, only now I’m packing food in my backpack and getting on my motorbike, as opposed to walking.
HOT SHOWERS: I love them, I cannot lie. My shower here is horrible.
Things I found I missed about Vietnam:
CHEAP PRICES: Enough said.
FAMILIARITY: I walked into the lobby of my building today to see the same tv commercial that’s always showing about a Samsung tv and I almost jumped with joy.
RANDOM FRIENDLINESS: My xe om driver this morning had a ball teaching me Vietnamese words and kept hitting my knee with excitement.
ON DEMAND ENTERTAINMENT: Cheap dvds, endless movies, itunes.
PEOPLE WHO ARE EASILY IMPRESSED: This morning I applied makeup and the entire office told me how good I looked.
New Year’s Resolution:
1) Study more Vietnamese
